This thing shouldn’t come out as a surprise that Twitter, under the leadership of Elon Musk, is going to ship out a lot of new content, themes, and settings that were never tried before on the platform.
Elon Musk is an eccentric personality with a thing for curiosity and experimentation; he will not back out from trying some of his most optimistic and even vague ideas with Twitter now that he has complete control over the platform.
And he confirmed the news himself in an earlier tweet stating that users should prepare themselves for a lot of new things that are coming forward on Twitter, some even dumb than most.
Lately, Musk issued a severe crackdown against the users who were engaging themselves in a parody on the platform, specifically those who didn’t point out that it was impersonation. A few hours later, after this new policy rolled out, someone impersonated Elon Musk, and they had to say goodbye to their account for good.
It seems that the initial initiative that Elon Musk took when he wanted to have control of Twitter, making the platform viable for free speech, doesn’t seem to be on his to-do list anymore.
He has said, though, that many of these features that will get introduced would be tested by the users, and if these are not something to keep, then these will be discarded.
Users are Fleeing Twitter in Search of Alternative Platforms
On top of everything else, he has issued an $8 fee that every user would have to pay who wants to have that shining blue tick cohort on their Twitter IDs. And that is not only a one-time thing as it would be charged to the users on a monthly basis.
Most Twitter users are already fleeing the platform in search of alternatives, and many decentralized social media platforms having the same UI as Twitter have emerged on the Horizon too.
This is not a coincidence that this type of migration is in effect; it seems to be a valid try on behalf of the users to escape the Musk-driven oppression of the original Twitter platform.
