Hetzner is a web hosting company that works in a private capacity with Ether which means that about 10% of the Ether nodes are being hosted on the web servers of the web hosting company.
Recently, many Ether users started to use the services of the company to host their private crypto projects on the servers, and it issued a warning that just because the company is working with Ether in a private capacity hosting its services on its platform, it doesn’t mean that the company is pro-crypto and users should refrain from using the servers of the company for the said purpose of engaging with DApps or anything that is remotely associated with crypto market.
Hetzner has a Strict Anti-Crypto Policy
When asked, what is the worst that could happen if someone were to host or use the services of the company for their private crypto project?
The company spokesperson replied that the company has an anti-crypto stance which means that some of the cryptocurrencies out there are already causing problems, such as with the volatility factor of the crypto market, and then the users bail on the company without paying for the services that they initially used. That is why anything that is even remotely associated with the crypto market is not welcome on the servers of the Hetzner hosting company.
So, why is the company hosting Ether nodes on its servers, isn’t it crypto too? When asked this question, the spokesperson said that Ether went into business with the company a long time ago, long before cryptocurrencies went mainstream, and since then, it has remained a very loyal and worthy client for them.
The payments have been made on time, and everything is running like grease on the wheels; they don’t want something this stable to lay off their servers; hence the company has given special permission to Ether to continue hosting its services on the platform.
Upon receiving warnings from the web hosting company that the accounts of those users would be banned indefinitely who are using the services for their private crypto projects, the Hetzner company has received some serious backlash. People don’t want to use the services anymore, and this anti-crypto stance is unbearable for many out there.
